Terms of Payment and Refunds

Success Fee

If you are a Surveyor and secure any work through our service, you agree to pay Surveymyhouse a success fee.   We will consider work to be secured if after quoting, contacting or messaging the Customer via the website or using the service, you are paid for some or all of the Job posted or advertised, or similar or related work.

The success fee is calculated as 5% + VAT of the Job Quote, with a minimum fee of £5.00 + VAT and a maximum fee of £500 + VAT.  From time to time Surveymyhouse may change its success fee pricing, provided we give all active Users 14 days notice by email of a fee change.

Our success fee invoices become due immediately and must be paid within 14 days from date of issue and paid using the methods of payment offered by us. Our rights relating to interest on late payments and right to recover shall not be affected. Since we cannot track when the work is done and when the Surveyor is paid, we cannot wait until you have been paid for the work. We will give refunds of the success fee usually only if the Job has not actually been secured.  Refunds may occasionally be offered in other circumstances at the discretion of Surveymyhouse.  Visit our Surveyor Help section for more information on our Fees.

You agree you are responsible for paying our invoices within the payment terms of the invoice. If your account has an invoice which is more than 7 days overdue your account will be automatically restricted.  You agree to receive all invoices by email to the email address you have given to us. It is your responsibility to ensure that this email address is working correctly.

Failed, Disputed and Questions on Payment

If you have a question about a charge on your credit or debit card, you agree to contact us using the form available on our Contact Us page.  Should any payment method you use fail or is later reclaimed by the bank or card issuer you agree to pay any costs incurred by us plus a £10 + VAT administration fee.

You agree that Customers have the opportunity to leave feedback on you if after the Tender process you carried out some or all of the job advertised or similar or related work.

The performance of a Job placed via Surveymyhouse shall only receive feedback by the Customer(s) involved. Feedback on the performance of a Job shall not be given until the respective work has been completely performed. If the performance of a Job fails by fault of a Surveyor involved, it is permissible for a Customer to give a negative rating. Surveyors should understand that Surveymyhouse is not responsible for the evaluation and it's content that a Customer posts, or any harm done by such content. The aim of the feedback system is to build up a meaningful profile of the performance, reliability and trustworthiness of Surveyors.

Customers must only give objective and truthful comments when giving feedback on Surveyors and each Customer is directly responsible for the content of their feedback. There should not be any statements made contrary to the objective of the feedback system, in particular there should be no unnecessary, irrelevant or insulting statements. Any such statements may result in complete or partial deletion of the feedback, suspension of the User, termination of the Agreement and/or other appropriate measures.

To ensure feedback is authentic, Surveymyhouse perform a number of checks, and may at our sole discretion remove any feedback that cannot be confirmed.  Even if feedback is removed or not provided, the Surveyor will continue to be obliged to pay the associated Success Fee.
